Homeowners understand the need for insurance, but the percentage of people with renters insurance still remains relatively low. The hardest part about getting a policy is convincing people they need one. (Aug. 27)

In california replacing an LTC insurance policy:
1) Is legal is the replacing insurer waives any waiting periods that were satisfied under the original policy.
2) Is always prohibited by law
3) is legal only if agents obtain prior approval from department of insurance
4) must always provide the insured with broader benefits than the original policy

When a group LTC policy is replaced by another group policy issued to the same group, the replacing insurer is required to do all of the following except:
1) provide substantially equivalent of ideantical benefits
2) offer coverage to all persons who were covered under the replaced policy
3)premiums for the new coverage must be based on each insureds age at the time the new policy is effective
4) not require new waiting periods elimination periods probationary periods of similar preconditions.
