It’s back to school and not just for the little ones.

For college freshman preparing for the first semester can be tough.

Between getting books and making sure you know where to park on the first day of class-there is also getting settled into a dorm or apartment.

Many students are going through the registration process alone and are having to multi-task just to be ready to start classes on Monday.

But here are a few things freshman do forget.
Extension cords- outlets may be on the other side of the room.
Masking tape- to attach all sorts of things to the walls and keep cords together.

And social security cards or other documents you may need for applications.

We caught up with some freshman today at UTPB.

Katie Grodaman, a freshman, says, “I packed just about everything. I forgot basic office supplies. As a matter of fact I have to go get that today.”

Natalie Carlton, also a freshman, says, “I do know people that forget to bring extra underwear.”

Funny Natalie mentions that because extra underwear is on the list of commonly forgotten items. No one ever washes often enough.

Also, renters insurance- if you living in an apartment.

And patience. It’s your first year so you won’t know all the procedures or where everything is.

Freshman should also be open-minded and remember to think positive.

The first month can be physically and emotionally draining.
