LTC Insurance

Hi! I’m a Psychology major and am curious if long-term-care insurance generally covers mental health issues. When I think of LTC insurance, I think of nursing homes or home health care.

By “mental health issues” I mean serious mental health problems that require hospitalization or treatment in a residential facility. It seems like the same basic concept, but I know that insurance carriers can be a little picky about the specifics on health care issues.

I know that for the most part it depends on the policy, but I don’t have LTC insurance so I can’t check my own policy or anything.

Thanks!

He heard a lot of people grow their commissions revenue by buying/acquiring other’s book of business. He and I are looking mainly for

Dental
LTC

Preferably GROUP cases. Email me if you would, or some links to useful websites would be very much appreciated!

How much does LTC insurance cost?

Long Term Care insurance protects families from the costs of in-home care givers, assisted living facility costs, and nursing home costs that will often run from $50,000 to over $100,000 per year, and can wipe out most families. Around half of us will need this extended care.

Our employer is offering unum ltc insurance at a group rate. For a 47 year old, 4 yr coverage @ 4k, monthly premium is $20.30. When I chose the compounded option, monthly premium jumps to $59.10.
I called they company and they said it is compounded at 5% per year.
My other thought was to go with 8k coverage, no inflation for $44.00 per month.
Is there anyone out there who understands this stuff and would please give me any guidance?
Thank you!
