He has had strokes and heart attacks, so there are some pre existing conditions. Are there any life insurance policies that are affordable, that would cover him? Im just looking for something that would cover funeral cost.

My company allow me to buy my parent’s health insurance with me. can i include that amount into my itemize deduction? even though my dad file his own tax return; my dad is not a dependent on my tax return;

My Dad died last week unexpectatly, is there a way to find out if he had life insurance or do I just keep digging for policies. Is there some phone number to call and give his SS# and they can check all insurance companies? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My father is at a rehab center, but is very sick. He has medicare and then LTC private insurance that covers 80%. The Medicare phone number people say that it doesn’t matter whether he is doing rehab, that it will cover him 100% for 80 days, but the center wants to kick him out or have us pay 20% after 21 days. What can we do if we know the Social Worker is just trying to get more money from us and is harrassing all of us? The situation makes it hard for us to focus on my dad’s best interests and getting the helps he needs.
My father does have supplemental LTC insurance. But it appears that what the doctor orders as rehab has an effect. If the doc ordered another 20 days of rehab, I think he would be covered under medicare up to the 80 days or so. Otherwise i’m guessing he’ll go to LTC with no rehab unless ordred by the doc. Also his ltc is the supplement for up to 5 years and is for 150.00 per day, but the avg. ltc in OMaha is about 195 per day. is there anything i can check into to make sure i’m not missing something?
